Matt Jansen's early strike was cancelled out by a Michael Owen double and Harry Kewell's late effort gave Gerard Houllier's men all the points, but the result came at a price as both Milan Baros and Jamie Carragher left the field injured.
The game started badly for The Reds as Czech ace Baros was stretchered off after just five minutes with what is believed to be a broken ankle after a clash with Markus Babbel, who is ironically on loan from Anfield.
Things got worse for Houllier's troops as Vratislav Gresko's long ball found Jansen, via an Andy Cole flick, and he made no mistake to put the hosts ahead on eight minutes.
Owen kept up his superb start to the season by slotting home from the penalty spot on 12 minutes after El Hadji Diouf was brought down by Gresko, and the game swung in Liverpool's favour as Lucas Neill was then dismissed for a shocking tackle on Carragher - who limped off injured as a result.
Former Anfield keeper Brad Friedel was in sparkling form for the hosts and denied Owen on a number of occasions but could not stop him putting the visitors ahead on 68 minutes.
Harry Kewell made it 3-1 in the final minute as Liverpool notched three goals for the second successive away match and continue to improve with every game, while Blackburn will be left ruing Neill's dismissal which turned the game against them.
