The Australian international was thought to have suffered fresh problems with an old ankle injury in the club's 5-1 pre-season win over Scottish champions Celtic in the United States on Monday.
There were fears the former Leeds United star would miss The Reds' start to the new campaign next month, but the club have since put out a statement claiming Kewell has been able to train following the Celtic match in East Hartford, Connecticut.
"We are puzzled as to where these stories are coming from," Liverpool's head of press Ian Cotton told the club's official website.
"Harry has trained normally with the rest of the squad since the two days when we played Celtic in Connecticut."
Rafa Benitez's side play UEFA Champions League holders Porto in Toronto, Canada on July 30 before facing Serie A giants Roma in East Rutherford, New Jersey on August 3 to finish their three-match North American tour.
