Liverpool's Stephen Warnock is delighted to have become part of the first team at Anfield.Liverpool midfielder Stephen Warnock is delighted to have become part of the first team at Anfield.
Warnock made his first Premiership start earlier this season and he featured again against Norwich City in the weekend.
The 22-year-old is now hoping to keep his role on the left side of midfield as Liverpool face Greek outfit Olympiakos on Tuesday.
"The manager has shown that he's got faith in my ability by getting me involved in nearly every game this season," said Warnock.
"Running out against Norwich on Saturday was a dream come true but it would be pretty special to play against Olympiakos and Rivaldo in particular.
"Obviously, I want to play in every game but if I'm not in the team, then so be it because I'm pretty sure that I'll get more chances to show what I can do."
Warnock spent last season on loan at Coventry City and earned a new two-year deal on the back of his performances at Highfield Road.
"I've been at the club for years but after being away last season, I'd almost forgotten what it was like," he said.
Meanwhile, Harry Kewell has travelled with Liverpool for their UEFA Champions League clash with Olympiakos.
Kewell missed the win over Norwich with a thigh strain and was not expected to make the trip, but he has flown out with Rafa Benitez's Reds squad.
