The Czech Republic ace netted a hat-trick on Saturday as Liverpool beat Crystal Palace at Anfield, but his manager still wants more from him.
Benitez is keen to improve Baros' team play, and would like him to get his head up more when running with the ball.
"It is hard to talk about where someone needs to improve after they have scored goals but we will try to show him where he can develop his play," Benitez told the club website.
"We have talked about him playing with his head up more, seeing more of what is happening around him. But it is like wanting to teach your children things. It takes time.
"We will show Milan the video of this match and point out the areas where he may have chosen a different option, where he can do the things we have talked about.
"He is very quick and that made it very difficult for the defenders. But you cannot play on your own."
Benitez was pleased with an improved display from the much-maligned Harry Kewell.
The Australian produced a promising display against Palace that Benitez hopes could signal a return to form.
"Harry played better," said Benitez. "He played between the lines of midfield and attack, he played some good passes in and in the second half he did well on the wing also.
"But it's not just one week, he needs two or three good weeks and I'm sure he will play better in the future. I've said before that he is a good player."
