The Australian returned to action in Liverpool's UEFA Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, after being out since December.
Kewell did well in only his first competitive outing this year, but says that he is still struggling with a groin injury.
Many have had their say about Kewell's fitness problems, with his international manager and agent both saying that he should not be rushed back into action.
The 26-year-old admits that he is still carrying an injury, but wants to play in Sunday's Carling Cup final against Chelsea.
"My injury is still dragging and it's not just going to go away like that," said Kewell.
"Now I will have a sit down with the manager and have a talk about it because I am still not 100 percent. I am still feeling my groin but everyone is doing their best to put it right.
"Of course I won't be telling him to rest me for Sunday - I want to play in every game."
Kewell says Tuesday's win over Leverkusen proved that Liverpool are not a one-man team - after producing a fine display without skipper Steven Gerrard.
"Stevie Gerrard is a great player but, whether he's playing or not, we'll just go out and do a job. You will never get us giving less than 110 percent.
"Tuesday's game showed that the manager does have strength in depth and it proves the quality he has brought in."
