Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen has thanked John Arne Riise.Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen has paid tribute to Norwegian international colleague John Arne Riise.
Pedersen has blossomed in recent weeks after a slow start to his career at Ewood Park.
The former Tromso star struggled to adapt to life in England and found himself largely on the periphery in Mark Hughes' early months in charge at the club.
However, he has now established himself as first-team regular and has been amongst Rovers' most impressive performers during their recent upturn in form.
The 25-year-old has given much of the credit for his improvement in fortunes to Liverpool star Riise who, he insists, helped him through the difficult early times he experienced in England.
"I found it hard when I came to Blackburn because I wasn't playing and I was stuck in a hotel but Riise kept me going," he stated.
"He would phone me up all the time and we would meet up.
"He had a tough time under Gerard Houllier last season so he knew what I was going through and he really helped me."
