Capello wary of Reds

Fabio Capello is wary of Liverpool's threat even without Steven Gerrard.

Juventus coach Fabio Capello believes his side must still be wary of Liverpool even without Steven Gerrard.

The Italian giants are looking to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at Anfield last week, when they welcome The Reds to Turin in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter final.

The news of skipper Gerrard missing out on the match due to a groin strain must have been an enormous boost to the Juve squad.

Despite the lack of their captain, Capello still believes Liverpool will provide tough opposition.

"They are a really strong and compact side," said Capello.

"Gerrard is really important due to his leadership and character, but I'm sure that whoever will play in his place, that's to say Xabi Alonso, will be important too."

Despite the loss on Merseyside, Juve know that just a 1-0 scoreline will take them into the semi-finals, a result they have had no problem managing in the Champions League this season.

Capello says his troops will be in no hurry to try and grab the all-important goal, as they are wary of conceding against a Liverpool side he believes will be most dangerous from set pieces.

"We must look for the score without hurry.

"We will be aggressive but at the same time cautious not to risk Liverpool's counter attacks.

"Our defence is quick enough but we need to watch out for their counter attacks. The important thing will be to get a grip of the game in midfield.

"Unfortunately, we are a bit short on height at the moment and they are really dangerous on free kicks."

Juve skipper Alessandro Del Piero says their task is easier than in the last round, when they needed two goals to see off Real Madrid.

"In the last round we needed to score twice against Real Madrid to go through and we did it," said Del Piero.

"This time one could be enough.

"They have a good scoring record away from home though."
