Liverpool's Djimi Traore is expected to miss the first month of the new season.Liverpool have confirmed that defender Djimi Traore is expected to miss the first month of the new Premiership season.
The Mali international picked up an injury in the pre-season friendly win over Bayern Munich in July.
Further medical results revealed that the 25-year-old had sustained a thigh strain, and the player could now be in line to miss the early fixtures against Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Tottenham.
Traore, who signed a new deal with The Reds over the summer, will also miss the two legs against CSKA Sofia in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
The defender started May's final in Istanbul as Rafa Benitez's side saw off Milan in such memorable fashion to take Europe's biggest prize, but will now be unable to assist his team-mates in the early stages of the search for further glory.
