Liverpool target Fabrizio Coloccini is set for talks regarding his future at Deportivo.Fabrizio Coloccini's agent will travel to Spain next week to enter into talks regarding his client's future with Deportivo La Coruna - as rumours linking the defender with Liverpool refuse to die down.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez has made no secret of the fact that he is keen to recruit another centre half, and could be set to again utilise his extensive knowledge of the Spanish market after arranging a deal for Villarreal's Jan Kromkamp.
Coloccini has been linked with a é¼3.5 million (£2.4 million) switch to Anfield, although Argentine giants Boca Juniors and River Plate are keen to bring the stopper back to his homeland in a loan capacity.
The former Milan man is unhappy at Deportivo having fallen out with coach Joaquin Caparros, and is currently exiled from the first team.
The Liga outfit's president Augusto Cesar Lendoiro has so far valued his stopper at é¼6 million (£4.13 million) with the transfer window just days away.
In a bid to resolve the current impasse, Coloccini's agent Marcelo Lombilla will travel to Spain and enter into dialogue concerning his client's future.
Coloccini himself is desperate to play in order to keep his World Cup hopes alive.
"My objective is to play because I have many options for the World Cup in 2006," said Coloccini.
"The coach [Jose] Pekerman is only interested in me if I play."
