Danny Gabbidon can hardly wait for Saturday's FA Cup final against Liverpool.
Danny Gabbidon admits he will be living out a boyhood dream when he plays in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
The accomplished West Ham defender has enjoyed an excellent season and could cap it at the weekend when stepping out against boyhood club Liverpool.
Gabbidon was a Liverpool supporter as a child but he will put past loyalties aside at The Millennium Stadium, desperate to help his side to silverware.
''It's a dream come true really to get to an FA Cup final,'' Gabbidon told Sky Sports News.
''Obviously because it's Liverpool I've got a little soft spot for them since I was a kid.
''If I could pick any team to play against in the final it would definitely be them.
''It's going to be a great day. Both sets of fans are fantastic, very passionate and should make a great atmosphere. Hopefully the players can make it a great game.''
West Ham will start the game against Rafa Benitez's side as underdogs but Gabbidon is confident that The Hammers could yet spring a surprise if they perform on the day.
''Liverpool are a class team with class players throughout their team,'' he continued. ''You can't pick out one player.
''Steven Gerrard is a world class player, someone I'll have to watch, he can win games on his own.
''Throughout the team the likes of (Harry) Kewell, (Djibril) Cisse, (Peter) Crouch and (Xabi) Alonso are all top players.
''We believe on our day, if we perform, we can beat anyone.
''Hopefully, we'll be on form on the day and I'm sure we can give them a good game.''
