Striker John Aloisi is set to miss Australia's final home warm up game.
Australia's World Cup play-off hero John Aloisi is set to miss the Socceroos' final home warm-up game against European champions Greece.
The 30-year-old Alaves striker limped out of training on Monday and will join Liverpool's Harry Kewell and Everton's Tim Cahill on the sidelines.
Thursday's match is a 95,000 sell-out at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
"I am quite positive I won't be able to play on Thursday," the former Coventry man told Australian Associated Press.
Aloisi's injury was sustained while playing in La Liga for Alaves.
Initial fears suspected an aggravation of a foot injury, however, after treatment with the national team's physio, the former Portsmouth hot-shot is confident he will make Australia's warm-up games in Europe next month.
"It should be alright for the Holland trip, which is important because I don't want to get any further injury before I go away," he confided.
All the 23-man squad with the exception of Kewell, who is undergoing treatment on his groin strain in England, will fly to Europe on Friday for friendlies against Holland and Liechtenstein.
Cahill has already been ruled out of Thursday's game as he fights for fitness after an knee injury.
"I've been working really hard on it and I'm more than hopeful I will be okay by the time we get to Holland," he commented.
Australia have been given a tough World Cup group alongside holders Brazil, consistent Croatia and the ever-improving Japan.
