Reds wrap up double deal

Spanish pair Alvaro Arbeloa and Francisco Manual Duran have joined Liverpool.

Spanish pair Alvaro Arbeloa and Francisco Manual Duran have completed their moves to Liverpool.

Arbeloa, formerly of Real Madrid, has joined following an impressive season with Deportivo La Coruna.

The 24-year-old spoke earlier on Wednesday of his surprise to join Liverpool and is hoping his move to England proves the right decision.

"Until yesterday I wasn't sure whether I was going to leave or not," Arbeloa told the club's official website.

"My agent told me the deal was very advanced and I was then told that the deal had been reached between both clubs.

"For me this is a beautiful challenge and I hope everything goes well. It's a huge leap for me."

Arbeloa is joined at Anfield by teenage compatriot Duran and the youngster is thrilled with his dream move.

"It's a unique opportunity and I couldn't let it go by," he stated.

"To play for Liverpool is a dream for me and now I only desire to fight to play finally for the club."
