Australia coach Graham Arnold has left Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell out of the squad for the friendly against Argentina on 11th September.
However, three other Premier League players have been included for the game, which takes place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
While Newcastle striker Viduka and Liverpool winger Kewell will not travel to Australia for the game, Middlesbrough keeper Mark Schwarzer, West Ham defender Lucas Neill and Wigan midfielder Josip Skoko are all in the squad.
They will be joined by Celtic striker Scott McDonald, Sheffield United midfielder David Carney and Leicester defender Patrick Kisnorbo.
Arnold has selected five players from Australia's A-League and believes the chance to take on one of the best sides in the world will be of great benefit to those who are not used to taking on players of that calibre.
"The challenge that we will face taking on Argentina is one that our players are looking forward to," he said.
"It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some of the players to come up against some of the best players in the world and to test themselves at this level."
Squad: Mark Bresciano (Palermo), Vincenzo Grella (Torino), Mark Schwarzer (Middlesbrough), Nick Carle (Genclerbirligi), Josip Skoko (Wigan), Michael Beauchamp (Nurnberg), Luke Wilkshire (Twente), Josh Kennedy (Nurnberg), Brett Holman (NEC Nijmegen), Carl Valeri (Grosseto), David Carney (Sheffield United), Archie Thompson (Melbourne Victory), Jason Culina (PSV Eindhoven), Michael Thwaite (Wisla Krakow), Scott McDonald (Celtic), Clint Bolton (Sydney FC), Alex Brosque (Sydney FC), Patrick Kisnorbo (Leicester City), Simon Colosimo (Perth Glory), Lucas Neill (West Ham), Dean Heffernan (Central Coast Mariners).
