Boudewijn Zenden is ready to give his new Marseille team-mates inside information on European opponents Liverpool.

Former Reds player ready to help Marseille

Boudewijn Zenden is ready to give his new Marseille team-mates inside information on Liverpool ahead of their UEFA Champions League meetings. The former Anfield midfielder, who joined the French side after being released by Rafael Benitez this summer, will make an emotional return to Merseyside after the two clubs were paired together in Group A. Marseille, who are also up against Besiktas and Porto, travel to Liverpool on 3rd October with the return fixture taking place in France in December. Zenden told L'Equipe: "The Liverpool match will be a special reunion with friends and all the people I know. "I know the players, their game, the coach and the way they play free-kicks very well. I can be useful."

Frustration

But Zenden is still struggling to make his mark for Marseille and has admitted his frustration at not being a regular in Albert Emon's starting XI. He added: "I am not happy to be on the bench, it is difficult for me. "It is the coach's choice. I didn't have a lot of time to adapt to a new system, a new way to play. "But I don't look for excuses. I have not spoken to the coach but I will work even harder to try and change the situation. "I am disappointed not to be playing, but not disappointed to have joined Marseille."
Fiorese
Meanwhile, Fabrice Fiorese is back with Marseille following his loan spell with Lorient last season. The 31-year-old is training with the rest of the squad having worked on his own throughout the summer. Emon said: "He is very motivated and has a point to prove. Once he is fit I will consider him for the team."
