Javier Mascherano is confident that Liverpool will start winning games more convincingly once Fernando Torres returns to action.
The Spanish striker has missed Liverpool's last six games with a hamstring injury but is set to feature against West Brom at the weekend.
The Reds have secured narrow victories over Wigan, Portsmouth and Chelsea in Torres' absence but they have also lost to Tottenham and drawn twice with Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
Mascherano believes Liverpool have shown they can cope without Torres, but accepts that it will be a major boost to welcome him back.
"We know we've won important games with Torres. Obviously, he's a key player for us and it's much better to have him there," said the Argentine midfielder.
"Of course we have others who can score, like Robbie Keane, Steven Gerrard and sometimes players like Albert Riera.
"But obviously Fernando is the main one for us and I have no worries because in the next game we could end up scoring plenty of goals."
Liverpool squandered several chances as they were beaten by Tottenham on Saturday and again posed problems for Atletico in midweek, but Mascherano is not too concerned that the results did not go their way.
He explained: "Sometimes we've missed a few, yes, but we're creating a lot so I don't think we have anything to worry about.
"The main thing is to play well and we are."
Liverpool only snatched a point against Atletico thanks to Steven Gerrard's last-gasp penalty and Mascherano remains confident of progressing to the last 16.
He said: "We deserved to win that game but when it gets so close to the end the main thing then is just to make sure you don't lose.
"We're still up there with Atletico and know if we win our next game, we could end up on top of the group."
