Liverpool forward Dani Pacheco has admitted that he wants to get some game time in the Europa League this year.
The 19-year-old, who starred for Spain at the European Under-19 Championship this summer, has been given more chances by new manager Roy Hodgson in the first-team squad so far this season.
Pacheco appeared as a late substitute in their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, as well as a start in the Reds' Europa League qualifier against FK Rabotnicki.
Hodgson has already stated that he intends to use some of his fringe players in the squad for their Euopean fixtures.
With several players being linked with a move away and a breakdown in takeover talks over more funding, the Spaniard is likely to get his chance, with Hodgson stating he does not wish to loan out the youngster.
Pacheco is in the squad that takes a 1-0 lead to Trabzonspor for the second leg of their qualifying round, and was thinking positive over his future.
"It's a long season and this is another competition. There are four competitions and I hope I can get some minutes in the Europa League and some of the others," he told the club's official website.
"The manager has told me he doesn't want me to go away on loan. He wants me to stay here and be a player for the first team. I hope I finally break into the first team this season but I'll have to work hard for this.
"I am only 19-years-old, so to hear these things from a manager who has so much experience is really good for me."
