The Swedish winger netted was on the mark twice as the Reds retained their place at the U21 Premier League summit.
Liverpool are level on points with Fulham, but have two games in hand on the second-placed side and Southampton, who are two points behind in third.
Peterson hit a brace as Liverpool thwarted the best efforts of Newcastle and admits it was a great feeling to finally score on home soil.
"I scored 2-1 and 4-2 and they were important goals." Peterson told Fotbollskanalen.se.
"It was particularly great since it was my first goals at Anfield. I have scored 10 and added six assists now.
"It is fun that we are top of the standings. We've got the youngest team, but we are at the top of the league.
"It all creates a positive atmosphere at the club."
The talented striker spent one month on-loan with League One outfit Tranmere in December, but is set to stay at Liverpool until the end of the season.
"I am truly focused," Peterson added. "There has been some interest, but I have reached an agreement with the club to work on.
"We will see what happens during the summer."
