Mario Balotelli watched on as goals from fellow forwards Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano earned AC Milan their first win of the new Serie A season - 2-1 at home to Empoli.
Italy international Balotelli, who recently rejoined the Rossoneri on a season-long loan from Liverpool, was an unused substitute as the home side scraped an unconvincing victory at the San Siro on Saturday.
Colombian striker Bacca - also a summer signing, from Sevilla - put Milan ahead in the 16th minute when he slotted home, but Empoli levelled four minutes later as Riccardo Saponara drilled home.
The Rossoneri claimed a 69th-minute winner as Adriano attacked an inviting corner and powered a header past goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski.
In the day's other game, Antonio Floro Flores snatched a late winner for Sassuolo as they beat Bologna 1-0 at Stadio Dall-Ara.
An open encounter had been heading towards a goalless draw before Karim Laribi broke with the ball in the 86th minute and his miss-hit shot rebounded into the path of Floro Flores.
