Premier League questions: Will Sergio Aguero's hot-streak continue? Can Man Utd end Hull's winning run?

Philippe Coutinho of Liverpool celebrates

The Premier League season is two games old but Man City and Man Utd are already jostling at the top of the table.

The two title contenders will be looking to extend their 100 per cent records this weekend, with Pep Guardiola's side in Super Sunday action against West Ham.

Before that, Tottenham host Liverpool at White Hart Lane live on Sky Sports 1 HD in Saturday's early kick-off, while Middlesbrough will be looking to make it two-from-two on Super Sunday when they face West Brom.

With all 20 teams in action on Saturday and Sunday, we take a look at 10 questions that could be answered over the weekend...

Will Spurs keep out Liverpool's attack? (Tottenham v Liverpool - Saturday from 11.30am, Sky Sports 1 HD)

Nine goals from three games is a fine return for Jurgen Klopp's side; if only they could tighten up at the other end.

They have looked dynamite in attack, with summer signing Sadio Mane particularly impressive against Arsenal and Burton Albion. All of a sudden his absence for the limp defeat at Turf Moor doesn't look like a coincidence.

Tottenham, who have conceded just once in their opening two league games, will represent their toughest test yet, with Victor Wanyama providing added solidity to a settled back four.

Will Middlesbrough end their awful recent run v WBA? (West Brom v Middlesbrough - Super Sunday from 12.30pm)

The two clubs have not met in the league since a Championship match in 2010 - but Middlesbrough's record does not make pleasant reading.

Sunderland 1-2 Middlesbrough

They have lost their last four league clashes, conceding 11 without scoring.

The positive for Aitor Karanka is Middlesbrough have quickly adapted to Premier League life, collecting four points from their first two games.

Their victory over Sunderland was almost the perfect away performance, and Karanka will be hoping for the same again on Sunday.

Does Sergio Aguero's hot-streak continue against the Hammers? (Man City v West Ham - Super Sunday from 3.30pm)

The fact Aguero, who has six goals in his last three games, is in great form should be concerning enough for West Ham, but it gets worse for the visitors.

Antonio's right role?
Antonio's right role?

Can West Ham's Michail Antonio ever truly thrive as a right-back?

The Man City striker loves playing London opposition, having scored 37 goals in 47 league games against teams from the capital.

And he's been involved in eight goals in his last seven league games against West Ham, who hope to have star man Dimitri Payet back for the Etihad trip.

His presence could be crucial. West Ham have won 48 per cent of league games when he's played against just 22 per cent when he's missing.

Will Antonio Conte unleash Michy Batshuayi on Burnley? (Chelsea v Burnley - Saturday, 3pm)

The Chelsea boss must be tempted. Batshuayi made the difference against Watford, turning the game with his equaliser and he grabbed another two in the EFL Cup win over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday.

But Diego Costa scored winners against West Ham and Watford, even if he was fortunate to stay on the pitch in both games.

Did Diego Costa dive against Watford?

Conte could always go for the Burnley approach and play two strikers up front, with Batshuayi supporting Costa.

Sean Dyche reaped the rewards against Liverpool when Andre Gray and Sam Vokes each found the net in an impressive win, but it remains to be seen whether he sticks with the tactic away from Turf Moor.

Will Romelu Lukaku regain his scoring touch against Stoke? (Everton v Stoke City - Saturday, 3pm)

The Belgian international failed to net his first of the season as Everton put four past Yeovil on Tuesday, but his recent record against Stoke offers encouragement.

Lukaku, who has not scored or assisted a single goal in the league since March 19, has struck three times in his last two Premier League appearances against the Potters.

Stoke recorded a morale-boosting 4-0 win themselves in the EFL Cup, but they need to start performing in the league. Mark Hughes' side have picked up just 10 points from a possible 36.

Will either manager get a much-needed maiden league win? (Southampton v Sunderland - Saturday, 3pm)

Sunderland's creditable display at the Etihad was undone by Sunday's tame showing against Middlesbrough, and the bottom line is two games and zero points for David Moyes.

August 20/21 - Saves Of The Week

Frustrations in the transfer market have proved an added distraction, and like new Southampton boss Claude Puel, Moyes needs to get up and running.

Puel's Saints are one point better off, but goals look a problem following the departures of Graziano Pelle and Mane.

The Frenchman clearly fancies Nathan Redmond up front, but so far his partnership with Shane Long very much looks like a work in progress.

Will Arsenal ease the pressure on Arsene Wenger? (Watford v Arsenal - Saturday, 3pm)

We are barely two weeks into the season and Arsene Wenger already looks exasperated. His side have opened with two tricky games, but for many frustrated Arsenal fans a return of just one point proves their point - why isn't the club spending money?

It's been a funny start to the season for Watford too. They looked superb against Southampton for 45 minutes and had the lead against Chelsea, but took a combined one point from the two matches.

Watford 1-2 Chelsea

Add to the mix a shock midweek defeat to League One Gillingham in the EFL Cup and it's no surprise new boss Walter Mazzarri slammed his players' complacency.

Both teams could do with the three points then, but you sense the concern is particularly pressing for the visitors.

Will Christian Benteke make a splash on his league debut? (Crystal Palace v Bournemouth - Saturday, 3pm)

The fixture list has not been kind to Bournemouth. They had Zlatan Ibrahimovic's league debut and the London Stadium's first Premier League game and both went according to script, with the Cherries on the receiving end twice.

West Ham 1-0 Bournemouth

Will Crystal Palace's new £30m signing make it three in a row? Benteke failed to get off the mark on his debut in the EFL Cup, but should get another opportunity on Saturday.

These two sides finished level on 42 points last season and seem to have similar issues this term, with goals a problem for both.

They have just a single league strike between them as it stands so Alan Pardew will be looking for his new forward to make the difference.

Which Swansea will turn up at the King Power? (Leicester City v Swansea City - Saturday, 3pm)

An emphatic 4-0 win for Leicester in this fixture last season all but sealed their title, and they will be hoping to recover some of that magic this weekend.

August 20/21 - Saves Of The Week

A stuttering start to the season has checked their momentum slightly, while opponents Swansea impressed on their travels at Burnley before crashing back down to earth at home to Hull City.

They got back to winning ways in Peterborough on Tuesday, but it's been an up and down start to the campaign for Francesco Guidolin.

Still, Leicester will be wary the Swans look more comfortable away from the Liberty Stadium so far.

Will Jose Mourinho's side spoil the Hull party? (Hull City v Man Utd - Saturday, 5.30pm)

Former Man Utd assistant Mike Phelan has newly-promoted Hull in dreamland after two league games, having beaten Leicester and Swansea, but they welcome a resurgent Man Utd to the KCOM Stadium in Saturday's evening kick-off.

Highlights from Old Trafford as Man Utd took on Southampton in the Premier League

When you add players of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic's quality, you expect dramatic improvement, but even Jose Mourinho may have been surprised by just how good they looked against Southampton.

His big-money arrivals have slotted in seamlessly alongside old hands like Wayne Rooney, who has seven goals in his last five league games against the Tigers.

If it's more of the same in Hull, Phelan's winning streak could be in jeopardy.
