Frey has only been at The Ennio Tardini since last summer when he quit Internazionale in a £13 million transfer.
The 21-year-old is content at Serie A strugglers Parma but admits that, while he has no knowledge of any interest from Barcelona, it would fulfil a dream to play at Camp Nou.
"I am well here and the truth is I do not know anything of this offer but Barcelona is a dream for any soccer player," said Frey.
"In any case, I believe in the recovery of Parma and its project. We are a young team and we need time."
Frey has been one of the few shining lights for Parma in a miserable season as the club battle to beat the drop.
His performances have rewarded Parma's gamble in splashing out the huge sum to secure his services as a replacement to the world's most expensive goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Prior to his summer switch, he had also been linked with moves to Lazio, Juventus and Arsenal, and now Barcelona are monitoring his progress.
The Catalan giants are not short on goalkeepers with Roberto Bonano and Jose Reina, although Frey's compatriot Richard Dutruel is out of favour.
An imminent bid from Barcelona is unlikely but they have earmarked Frey as a player for the future.
