Under-21 coach Platt has selected six strikers in his 22-man party for the tournament in Switzerland.
Young trio Malcolm Christie, Jermain Defoe and Alan Smith have all plundered goals in The Premiership this season while Newcastle's Shola Ameobi has scored some crucial goals for the Under-21s.
Aston Villa's gangly marksman Peter Crouch and Brighton ace Bobby Zamora have also enjoyed fantastic seasons in front of goal.
Platt has also included Ledley King, Michael Carrick and David Dunn after that triumvirate were overlooked for the senior squad for the World Cup finals.
However, Platt has been forced to discount the services of Liverpool pair Chris Kirkland and Stephen Wright, who are both injured.
England kick-off the competition against the hosts on Friday May 17 and then face Italy on May 20 before rounding off the group phase with a clash against Portugal on May 22.
