The highly rated central defender has consistently been linked with a move away from St Andrews, with champions Arsenal and Charlton Athletic thought to have been interested.
However, Purse told the Birmingham Evening Mail: "I'm still desperate to stay here. That's not changed.
I've spoken with my agent and Karren Brady (Birmingham's managing director) and we are going to leave it until everyone is back from holiday."
He added: "We will all sit down together, probably at the end of June or more likely the beginning of July, and hopefully we will sort something out."
The talks will be crucial to determining the 25-year-old's future, as he has only one year left on his existing contract and would be available on a Bosman free next summer.
The player, who missed Birmingham's play-off victory over Norwich City through suspension, twice rejected the offer of a new five-year deal at the club last season, but the fact that The Blues will be competing against England's top clubs next year may help him make a positive decision.
