Juve impressed by Cole

JUVENTUS observers were impressed with England defender Ashley Cole's performance in Arsenal's astounding 4-0 win against PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday evening.

The left back was one of many star performers for The Gunners on the night as Arsene Wenger's side ended a poor run of away form in Europe with a stunning display from the first whistle.

Juve were represented at the Eindhoven encounter, with their main purpose to monitor the form of long-term possible targets Patrick Vieira, Freddie Ljungberg and Kevin Hofland.

However, Cole is believed to have also emerged as a name on the wish list of the bianconeri, particularly with Gianluca Pessotto still recovering from injury.

Marcello Lippi can cal upon promising youngster Emiliano Moretti in the full back role, but may continue to keep tabs on Cole.

The Italian media are suggesting Edgar Davids could be a pawn in any deal for the 22-year-old, as the Dutch midfielder has long been linked with a switch to Highbury.
