The Norwegian keeper was contacted by Arsenal in late December, but he signed a month-long deal with The Toffees only hours earlier.
Arsenal are desperately scouring the market for goalkeeping cover, and Baardsen appears to have emerged as an option.
"It's true that I got this phone call only hours after I had signed for Everton," he told VG. "I was told that Arsenal needed a goalie at that minute. But I had signed for Everton and obviously when you have agreed, you don't break that.
"I'm very pleased to be at Everton."
His short-term contract with Everton lapses on January 23, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has yet to bring in a new keeper.
Baardsen continued: "Even though Arsenal needed a goalie then, I'm not sure if they want me now."
However, he may get an unexpected run in the Everton team which could prompt an extended deal.
Wright picked up an injury in the warm-up for Sunday`s clash with Tottenham, handing Baardsen a chance to impress.
