Jose Antonio Reyes has been ruled out of Arsenal's Christmas programme.Jose Antonio Reyes has been ruled out of Arsenal's Christmas programme through injury.
The Spaniard faces a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury in training.
Reyes missed Sunday's 1-0 win at Portsmouth and he will be absent for the Highbury meeting with Fulham on Boxing Day and the trip to Newcastle three days later.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger feels the injury is not too serious and that Reyes should be available in the New Year.
"Reyes was injured. We took him with us but we had to keep him in the stands," Wenger told the club's official website.
"He would have played if he had been fit.
"It is a knee problem but it is only 10 days so it is not a huge problem."
Better news on the injury front for Arsenal is that Freddie Ljungberg should return for the busy festive period.
Ljungberg has missed the last three games with an attack of migraine headaches, but Wenger insists he is fit to return for Christmas.
"Freddie had scans and there was a worry over him but he has been given clearance now and hopefully he will be fit for the Christmas games," added Wenger.
