Real Madrid have denied they are plotting a summer bid for Jose Antonio Reyes.Real Madrid have dismissed the notion they are plotting a summer bid for Arsenal attacker Jose Antonio Reyes.
Reports have suggested the Spain international is a target for Real but the club's general manager Arrigo Sacchi has strongly refuted these rumours.
Reyes was wanted by Real prior to his move to Highbury from Sevilla 12 months ago and the 21-year-old has been mooted as being on the club's wanted list again.
It was recently suggested that the exciting talent was unsure of his future in North London due to pangs of homesickness.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger admitted there had been a problem with Reyes prior to Christmas but acknowledged the youngster is settled at Arsenal.
But rumours of Real's interest resurfaced over the weekend, with speculation claiming Reyes was being considered as the next Galactico.
Sacchi, though, has told skysports.com that Reyes is not on the club's radar, particularly as Real have enough options in his position.
"Real Madrid are not thinking of Reyes or any other player for next season at the moment," Sacchi told skysports.com.
"Our objective is to work, day to day, in search of success.
"I don't want to speak about Reyes because he is an Arsenal player and his position is sufficiently covered in the team."
With Santiago Solari signing a contract extension at El Santiago Bernabeu, Real would no longer require a replacement for the Argentinian on the left wing.
Reyes can also operate in a more attacking role but Real again appear to have enough cover in that department having brought Javier Portillo back from a loan spell at Fiorentina to replace Fernando Morientes, who was sold to Liverpool.
