Real Madrid dismissed talk of Michael Owen joining Arsenal for Jose Reyes.Real Madrid's sporting director Emilio Butragueno has dismissed any talk of Michael Owen joining Arsenal in a swap deal with Jose Antonio Reyes.
Reports have been circulating that young Spaniard Reyes wants to return home after failing to settle in England.
Reyes has said that he is flattered to be linked with the Spanish giants, but has said that he is committed to The Gunners.
The former Sevilla man has seen his form dip alarmingly this season, leading to rumours that he wants to return home.
Butragueno has insisted that Real are not interested in swapping Owen for Reyes.
"These rumours have absolutely no foundation," said Butragueno.
"But I will have to be careful what I say because any comments about this turn into news stories."
Owen has a fine scoring record so far in Madrid, but still cannot cement a place in the starting XI at El Santiago Bernabeu.
Butragueno also played down talk of Robinho sealing a move to Real, but did hint that a deal was in progress.
"We have to be very prudent because the process always takes time.
"I am sure that Robinho will have many offers because he is a great player."
