Arsene Wenger believes patience was the key to their 2-0 victory over West Brom at The Hawthorns.The Gunners were made to battle for everything against Bryan Robson's side and it was not until the second half did the visitors make the breakthrough.
Wenger acknowledges The Baggies made things difficult, but feels it was one-way traffic once Robin van Persie opened the scoring before Edu made the points safe in injury time.
"They played with a team organising away from home and commitment at home," said Wenger to Sky Sports 1. "They made it difficult.
"In the second half we had more space and we scored a terrific goal and the second killed off the game.
"We had to wait for a chance and that's what we did. If we don't concede goals at the moment it helps to gain patience.
"We came into the game slowly and we started dominating."
Philippe Senderos has stated Arsenal considered keeping a clean sheet a priority and that the visitors were not going to underestimate Robson's charges.
"I think we were very serious at the back," said Senderos. "We needed to be more patient in the first half.
"We played our game in the second half and I think we deserved it. I think they played well very.
"They played like an away side with a home mentality. They did well.
"We played a good game up front and it was another clean sheet for us. We did very well to keep a clean sheet.
"We've shown we are one of the best teams in England."
