Reyes backs Spain for goals

Jose Antonio Reyes is backing Spain's strikers to put the sword into Slovakia in their World Cup play-off clash.

The Arsenal ace believes Luis Aragones' charges are the favourites to book a place in next summer's showpiece event in Germany due to the quality in their ranks.

Spain tackle Slovakia in Madrid on Saturday and Reyes is confident his country's frontline will prove too strong in the first-leg clash.

"We are the better team and we are going to prove it," explained Reyes. "I am convinced we are going to score goals, and a 2-0 scoreline would be ideal to take to Slovakia.

"With the forwards we have we are bound to score. Fernando Torres and Raul are both in form, as are Fernando Morientes and David Villa if they play."

Aragones is likely to opt for a three-pronged attack with Real Madrid's Raul possibly playing behind Atletico Madrid's Torres and Morientes of Liverpool while Valencia ace Villa could also come into contention.
