Jose Antonio Reyes is relishing the prospect of locking horns with former team-mate Patrick Vieira when Arsenal take on Juventus in the UEFA Champions League.
Reyes admits he formed a close bond with Vieira at Highbury with the Frenchman helping him to settle to life in England following his switch from Sevilla.
Vieira's departure last summer came as a shock to the Spaniard and he concedes that his loss has proved hard to handle, but he feels The Gunners are now finally beginning to establish themselves in the post-Vieira era.
"I'm really looking forward to it (playing Juventus)," he told The Daily Telegraph. "I had a special relationship with Patrick.
"He helped me a lot on the pitch when I first came, telling me where I should be running, when I should be covering. He would talk to me right through the game.
"You are always going to miss someone of Patrick's stature, but it's not just me that missed him, it's the whole team.
"We were all surprised when he went but we had to respect his decision. That's how the game is and all the players accepted it.
"We do look better now, but we've only played three or four good games.
"We need to wait and have a longer run until we can say we've properly turned the corner and got back on the right road."
