Le Mans keeper Yoann Pele has opened the door to a move to Arsenal.
Le Mans keeper Yoann Pele has opened the door to a move to Arsenal by admitting he would love to join The Gunners.
Arsene Wenger has an exciting crop of young outfield stars coming through the ranks in North London, but is clearly on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Germany number one Jens Lehmann.
Wenger has sent his scouts far and wide to check on prospective new keepers and the reports on Pele have been excellent.
Former Gunners star Gilles Grimandi has taken in a number of Le Mans games this term and the feedback on the giant 23-year-old keeper has been positive.
Pele has been one of the stars of Ligue 1 this term, but he clearly has his eyes fixed on a new challenge.
He is aware that Arsenal are keeping tabs on his progress and is clearly ready to make the jump to The Premiership.
"I know Arsenal are interested," the keeper is quoted as saying in the News of the World.
"They have watched me several times and it'd be great to join them."
The Gunners are set to move to their new home at Ashburton Grove in time for the start of the new season and there could be a clutch of new faces on show, as reports suggest Wenger will be given the green light to spend big in the summer in order to close the gap on Chelsea.
