Steve Bruce has expressed delight at securing the capture of Fabrice Muamba.
Steve Bruce has expressed delight at securing the capture of Arsenal starlet Fabrice Muamba and has also backed Cameron Jerome to shine at Birmingham.
The Blues chief has persuaded The Gunners to send highly-rated midfielder Muamba to the Second City for the season and the deal was wrapped up on Friday.
Muamba joined in training with the Blues squad on Friday and made an immediate impression on Bruce.
"We have just got the young Arsenal boy Fabrice Muamba," Bruce told Sky Sports News. "He has joined in this morning and looked a very good player."
Muamba is expected to be joined at Birmingham by his Gunners team-mate Sebastian Larsson, also on loan.
The Swedish defender is expected to sign a season-long loan deal on Monday.
The Gunners duo will link up at St Andrews with Cameron Jerome, a player Bruce has tipped for big things.
Jerome was a big money arrival from Cardiff earlier in the summer and Bruce feels he will play a key role this term.
"It is a big price tag," said Bruce. "But we are confident he can live up to that.
"He scored 19 or 20 goals last year for Cardiff and if he goes and does that for us, we will be at the top end of the division."
