Carlos Dunga believes Julio Baptista has the potential of becoming a Brazil regular.
Brazil boss Carlos Dunga believes Julio Baptista has the potential to become a regular international.
The former Sao Paulo and Sevilla hit-man has been a peripheral figure for Brazil after failing to hold down a regular first-team place at parent club Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old has since made the move to England and a season-long loan with Premiership giants Arsenal, having debuted in Saturday's 1-1 draw with ten-man Middlesbrough at The Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Dunga, who succeeded Carlos Alberto Parreira as Brazil manager following this summer's World Cup finals in Germany, thinks regular first-team action with Arsene Wenger's side will only boost Baptista's international chances.
"He didn't have many chances to play at Real and if he is going to play more for Arsenal, he will play more for Brazil," Dunga said in the News of the World.
