Arsene Wenger has hit out at the speculation surrounding Arsenal's draw with Porto.
Arsene Wenger has hit out at the speculation surrounding Arsenal's draw with Porto in midweek, claiming it as an insult to the players involved to say that the game was not on the level.
The Gunners played out a 0-0 draw in Portugal on Wednesday, a result which booked both sides' progression to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
But suggestions that the two sides did not play to win has not met favour with Wenger.
"I don't accept that kind of suspicion," he said on Sky Sports News. "We played a football game that was a draw.
"It was a difficult game, they hit the post twice. Do you think they hit the post on purpose?
"It is absolutely ridiculous and I find it an insult for the club and the people that were at the game.
"We wanted to win the game, we played against a strong side and that is it."
The Gunners travel to Chelsea on Sunday and although Wenger will be without injured duo William Gallas and Thierry Henry, the Frenchman is still confident of a bold show.
"It is a big test for us," he added. "We have done well against Porto and Tottenham and it has given us a lift and we want to show that at Chelsea.
"William Gallas is out for Sunday. Thierry Henry has no chance for the weekend and not for the weekend after. Johan Djourou should be available."
