Arsene Wenger is hoping Johan Djourou will be fit for Arsenal's trip to Sheffield United on Saturday.
Djourou suffered a minor hamstring injury during his side's 2-1 win at Watford on Boxing Day.
He was replaced by fellow Switzerland international Philippe Senderos at half-time, but has not picked up a serious problem.
The centre-half could be available for the weekend's visit to Bramall Lane, although Emmanuel Adebayor will miss the game.
Adebayor hurt his thigh at Watford and Gunners boss Wenger confirmed the striker will be absent on Saturday.
"Djourou is injured a little bit, but what is worse is that we lost Adebayor with a thigh strain," said Wenger.
"It is exactly the same, but on the other leg. He will be out for Saturday."
