Arsene Wenger has told Anthony Stokes he must decide where he wants to finish his loan.
Arsene Wenger has told his young hotshot Anthony Stokes that he must decide where he wants to spend the rest of his loan spell this season.
The striker has been prolific at Falkirk since moving to the Scottish Premiership this summer, scoring 13 goals in 17 appearances for The Bairns.
That record has seen Celtic and Charlton Athletic linked with a January move for the 18-year-old and Wenger insists he has left the final decision down to the player, deal with Falkirk runs out on January 1st.
"I would not be against Stokes at Charlton but it depends on him," Wenger told the club's website.
"I have had no request from Charlton until now, but I certainly won't force him to come back [from Falkirk]. He will benefit from a year in the SPL in the first team.
"Then he will be in a stronger position to come back and say he wants to play in the first team. It is like Nicklas Bendtner at Birmingham City. Go out for a year then let's see how good you are."
Falkirk have made it clear they want to keep the league's joint top scorer, and it is now down to Stokes to decide where his future lies.
