Fabrice Muamba's future is in his own hands as he ponders a permanent move.
Fabrice Muamba has revealed his future is in his own hands as he prepares to decide between Arsenal and Birmingham in the summer.
The England youth international has shone in Blues' Championship promotion campaign but is currently due to return to Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.
In his absence in North London, Abou Diaby has returned to full fitness and Brazilian teenager Denilson has also enjoyed a couple of promising cameos in the Carling Cup.
Gilberto and Cesc Fabregas have also been two of the club's most consistent performers in recent months and Muamba's prospects of first team football with The Gunners next season are likely to be severely restricted.
Now the holding midfielder has revealed that Arsene Wenger has granted him the right to choose where his future lies, with Birmingham keen to wrap up a permanent deal if possible.
"I had a meeting with Arsene Wenger a couple of weeks ago and he said we will make the decision in the summer time so hopefully by then I will know where I stand," said Muamba.
"In an ideal world I would like to play for Arsenal but you can't always get into the Arsenal team. We are going to see in the summer.
"The fans have been good to me at Birmingham and I have loved every single second of it.
"Will it be my decision on the future? It is my decision. I'll choose where I want to go.
"I have another year left at Arsenal but Arsene Wenger is leaving it up to me.
"It is down to me where I want to go."
