Mathieu Flamini has spoken of his delight at being called up to the France squad for the first time.
The Arsenal midfielder has been selected in Raymond Domenech's squad for the friendly against Argentina on Wednesday.
Flamini was not originally in the squad for the game at the Stade de France, but received a call from Thierry Henry telling him he had been added.
An injury to Philippe Mexes meant Flamini got his chance, and the 22-year-old could not hold back his joy.
"I was in London and Thierry Henry called me on the phone and told me 'come to Paris very quickly, you have been called up by Les Bleus'," Flamini told the French Federation.
"At first, I was very surprised, but I realised it wasn't a joke. It was a happy surprise for me, I am very flattered.
"I know a lot of players who I have played with or against, there are a couple of former Under 21 players.
"Also, Argentina are one of the biggest footballing nations.
"I played at the Stade de France in the final of the European Cup a couple of months ago with Arsenal, but it is a pleasure to come back here.
"The contact with the squad has been great. Playing for France, my country, what an honour."
