Brazilian midfielder Gilberto feels his fellow countryman Denilson has all the tools needed to forge a successful career at Arsenal.
Gunners chief Arsene Wenger plucked 18-year-old midfielder Denilson from the relative obscurity of Sao Paulo last summer.
Arsenal expected the youngster to take some time to adjust to life in England, but he has won over his team-mates in training and has shown glimpses of his quality in the Carling Cup.
Gilberto and Denilson lined up alongside each other against Tottenham in last month's semi-final and the display was enough to win the approval of the 2002 World Cup winner.
"Denilson is a great character," Gilberto told the club's official website. "Like many of the youngsters, he is not scared of playing in the team.
"Denilson has adapted so quickly to the system of the team in the short time he has been at the club.
"He is enjoying his time here, he is enjoying living here in England and is learning the language, like I had to do when I first came here.
"I have tried to help him as much as I can to make him feel comfortable at the club and he has been doing very well."
