Birmingham boss Steve Bruce is resigned to losing Nicklas Bendtner in the summer.
Steve Bruce is resigned to losing Nicklas Bendtner in the summer, but remains hopeful of keeping Fabrice Muamba at Birmingham City.
Both players are spending the season on loan at St Andrews from Arsenal and have impressed in the Championship.
Bendtner has scored nine goals in 34 appearances and Blues boss Bruce was looking to hang on to the Dane for at least another season.
But Bruce now accepts that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has plans for the forward at Emirates Stadium next term.
"I have said all along that we would struggle to hold on to Nicklas," Bruce told the Birmingham Mail.
"Arsenal have been monitoring him all season and he talks to them all the time. And ultimately it's down to Mr Wenger.
"We will address the situation in the summer, but I do expect him to go back to Arsenal."
Muamba's situation is more fluid and he could be allowed to leave The Gunners, although there are other Premiership clubs keen on the midfielder.
Bruce added: "Fabrice's situation is one where Arsenal don't quite want to commit to anything definite because they are well aware of his potential.
"We've all seen it, and as he's such a young age, he's going to get better."
