Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Eduardo da Silva has proven his quality.
Arsene Wenger has remained positive despite Arsenal slumping to a 1-0 defeat against Red Bull Salzburg, with the Frenchman highlighting the performance of new signing Eduardo da Silva.
The Arsenal boss fielded a strong side but there were echoes of last season as the Gunners created enough chances to win the game but failed to hit the back of the net.
Wenger though was upbeat and hailed da Silva's performance as the striker completed his first 90 minutes in an Arsenal shirt and looked threatening.
The Croatian signed for a fee thought to be around £8million from Dinamo Zagreb on 3rd July and arrived with an impressive record of 71 goals in 100 appearances.
"Eduardo could have scored four goals. He looked very dangerous and he has shown he is top quality," Wenger told the Sun.
"They were very defensive, which is what we face in our league and we created plenty of chances. I'm happy with how we played and with the spirit shown.
"The result was not important. We knew the last 20 minutes would be difficult but we should have scored five before they scored."
