Gunners youngster extends loan deal

Gillingham have opted to extend Rene Steer's loan deal for a third and final month. The Arsenal teenager originally joined the League Two club in January to provide cover at left-back. He has made five first team appearances during his time at Priestfield. He has fallen out of favour of late, failing to even make the bench, but has decided to remain with the Gills until the maximum 93-day emergency loan deadline. That means the 19-year-old will be available to manager Mark Stimson until the fixture with Bury on 25th April. Gillingham are currently pushing for promotion from the fourth tier and sit inside the top three with seven games of the season remaining.
