Gunners new boy impressed by starlet

Arsenal star Marouane Chamakh has tipped team-mate Jack Wilshere to become an even better player in the future. Wilshere has established himself as a regular in Arsene Wenger's first-team this season after a successful spell on loan at Bolton last term. The 18-year-old has already broken into the England senior team making his debut as a substitute in the friendly win over Hungary in August. Wilshere is set to feature for the Under 21s against Romania in their European Championship play-off on Friday before linking up with Fabio Capello's England squad for next week's Euro 2012 qualifier with Montenegro. Chamakh has saluted the impact of Wilshere and he believes he will only get better as he gets older. "I have been very impressed by Wilshere," Chamakh told skysports.com at an event promoting EA SPORTS FIFA 11. "Wilshere is a great player and I think he is only going to improve further. "As well as being a great player he is adorable off the pitch."

Chamakh also revealed his delight at Cesc Fabregas' decision to stay at Arsenal after a summer of speculation over his future. The Gunners captain was strongly linked with a return to Barcelona during the transfer window, but Arsenal managed to keep hold of their talisman. Chamakh admitted it was vital the club kept hold of Fabregas and that playing alongside the Spaniard was one of his main reasons for joining the Gunners. "I believe keeping Fabregas at the club showed the ambitions of the club," added Chamakh. "Also, on a personal level it was great for me as I have always wanted to play in the same team as him and it was one of the reasons why I joined Arsenal." Marouane Chamakh appears in EA SPORTS' FIFA 11, out now on all formats. FIFA 11 reinvents player authenticity through it's all-new Personality+ feature. Visit www.easportsfootball.com for details.
