Gunners defender feels there is still plenty to play for

Johan Djourou insists Arsenal still have 'big things' to look forward to following the UEFA Champions League defeat by Barcelona. Arsenal's European challenge came to a controversial end at Camp Nou on Tuesday night after a 3-1 second-leg loss saw Arsene Wenger's side go out 4-3 on aggregate. Fresh from the recent Carling Cup final defeat by Birmingham City, the result in Barcelona saw another potential chance of silverware slip through the Gunners' grasp. However, Arsenal remain in the Premier League title race, just three points behind Manchester United, and also face the leaders in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday. Djourou is looking for a swift response from his team-mates at Old Trafford and is confident the Gunners still have plenty to play for this season.

Tested

"This team has a lot of character and we should be disappointed because we wanted to go through," said Djourou. "However, we cannot be down too much because we have got a big game on Saturday, and also in the league we have big things to look forwards to. "There is only three points [difference] in the league, and so we will see. "We have to keep our heads up and keep working. "We are always going to be tested on how we respond, and the most important thing is to show we have the character to do that."
