Gunners youngster will fill void left by Roberts

Dagenham & Redbridge have secured a deal to sign Arsenal goalkeeper James Shea on loan for the new season. The 20-year-old was a regular fixture for the Gunners' reserve side last season, appearing 11 times and keeping three clean sheets. Shea also managed to make his way into Arsene Wenger's senior squad, with the French boss naming him on the bench for their FA Cup quarter-final clash with Manchester United in March. Shea will move to Victoria Road to replace Tony Roberts, with the veteran having announced his retirement at the end of last season after becoming the club's record appearance holder. The keeper previously had a spell with Southampton in February; however his loan term lasted just eight days before being recalled by the reserve team. The loan is understood to be in place for the whole campaign, where he will look to guide John Still's side back to League One following their relegation last season.
