Korean forward set to snub French champions in favour of Arsenal

Arsenal appear set to pinch Monaco forward Park Chu-Young, much to the frustration of reigning French champions Lille. The South Korea international appeared destined to be on his way to Lille, with an agreement for his transfer in place. No deal has been pushed through, though, and Arsenal are ready to pounce. It is understood that Park is to undergo a medical with the Gunners in the next 24 hours, ahead of finalising a move to England. Arsene Wenger is desperately looking to bolster his ranks before the transfer window slams shut and believes the 26-year-old would be a useful addition.

Baffled

Unfortunately for Lille, they had felt the same way and are now facing up to the fact that Park is set to snub them in favour of a switch to the Emirates, and they are not happy. Lille president Michel Seydoux told L'Equipe: "We haven't had a telephone call, nothing. "From what we understand he could be at Arsenal. "Like Monaco, Lille are baffled. Everything had been agreed. "This type of behaviour is not acceptable, in any event it doesn't correspond with the spirit here at Lille."
