It seems like an age ago that
Sky Sports News HD presenter Jim White finally switched off all five of his mobile phones, fans finally dispersed from Liverpool's Melwood training ground and the transfer window slammed shut.
But aside from the ridiculous notion that a registration period for a professional sport can close with such force, there was drama aplenty on deadline day with a number of high-profile players switching clubs.
One of the most notable transfers saw Peter Crouch leave Tottenham for Stoke, with the promise of guaranteed first team football proving too much for the England striker.
He is set to line up for the Potters as they host another of his former clubs, Liverpool, and he is 7/1 favourite with
Sky Bet to open the scoring for his new side.
Another former Anfield star to have moved on deadline day is Raul Meireles, who completed a very late move to Chelsea.
With the clock ticking towards 11pm, the Portuguese midfielder handed in a late transfer request to link up with former boss Andre Villas-Boas again and could be handed a starting berth against Sunderland.
The online betting firm have a number of debutant specials and have priced Crouch and Meireles at
18/1 both to notch on their respective Premier League bows.
They have also looked at the odds surrounding a number of deadline day signings and make Crouch and Arsenal new boy Mikel Arteta the shortest price (14/1) to both net.
Successor
Former Everton midfielder Arteta has been seen as a natural successor to Cesc Fabregas by many, but he will bring much-needed experience to a youthful Arsenal side that has endured torrid start to the season.
Arsene Wenger reacted to losing Fabregas and Samir Nasri in the transfer window by bringing in a host of last-minute signings including experienced players Park-Chu Young and Per Mertesacker, but the Gunners are still 25/1 outsiders to win their first Premier League crown since 2003/04.
City rivals Tottenham also had a dramatic deadline day, selling several players but acquiring the services of Scott Parker from West Ham.
Parker and Arteta are
