Arsene Wenger is determined not to get carried away by a seven-game winning run as Arsenal look to claim third place in the Premier League.
Arsenal have overturned a 10-point deficit with Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks to open up a three-point advantage over their North London rivals.
Saturday's 3-0 home victory over Aston Villa kept the Gunners on course for third and struggling Queens Park Rangers are the next opponents.
However, following a troubled start to the season, Wenger is taking nothing for granted and just wants to focus on the game at Loftus Road on Saturday.
"We have come through a very difficult period," said Wenger. "We have learnt from that and must keep our feet on the ground and focus on the next game.
"Let's first see how we finish and then we analyse it all after the end of the season; just see if we have the quality to maintain this consistency until the end of the season and then we can say: 'Okay, look'.
"That is not done yet, there are eight games to go and things can change."
Things have certainly changed from last season's capitulation following a similar blow of disappointments following defeat in the Carling Cup final.
"We are more experienced," Wenger said. "Last season we went out of the League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League in 10 days - that is like three knockouts in 10 days and subconsciously we couldn't win anymore."
The Arsenal manager believes a defensive improvement has played a vital role in his team's recent impressive winning run.
He added: "When we were not winning games I did not feel we played as badly as people said.
"We have gained a lot of confidence in our play out from the back and that makes a massive difference.
"The defenders who play out from the back give us a security now and that allows the team to be much more confident."
