Gunners boss aware that his side cannot afford any slip-ups

Arsene Wenger knows Arsenal cannot afford to relax as they ready themselves to enter the stage of the season which 'matters the most'. The Gunners have eight games remaining on their Premier League fixture list and are hoping to end the campaign with a third-place finish and UEFA Champions League group stage qualification safely tucked away. They have little margin for error in that quest, with arch-rivals Tottenham sat just three points adrift in fourth and desperate to enter the summer as North London's finest. Wenger acknowledges that his side must remain fully focused heading down the final stretch, with any wobbles suffered now likely to prove costly.

Momentum

"This is the period where what we do matters the most, so we just want to keep our focus on this and not worry about anybody else's results," said the French tactician, who has seen the Gunners pick up seven straight wins. "We have shown both footballing and mental qualities in recent weeks and now we need to continue our development." He added: "We are now at the stage of the season where every day in the Premier League seems to have turning points. "What is most important from now onwards is our consistency and momentum."
