Stoke City are close to completing the signing of USA midfielder Maurice Edu from Rangers.
The Potters have agreed personal terms with Edu, 26, over his move from the troubled Glasgow giants for an undisclosed fee.
Edu must pass a medical over the weekend and be granted a work permit before the move can be rubber-stamped.
The player has been set to leave Ibrox since admitting he did not want to play in the Scottish Third Division following Rangers' demotion.
He will join former Gers team-mate Jamie Ness at the Britannia Stadium once the move is completed and become the second USA international to be signed by Stoke boss Tony Pulis this summer.
American defender Geoff Cameron was cleared to arrive from Houston Dynamo earlier this month after City won their appeal for him to be given a work permit.
